Pitch Black

The darkness grows deeper, enveloping
as if I had weights upon my ankles, I stumble
And the oppressive push of putrid air smothers

I've become one with the nothing

As if in dreams I walk through walls
or are they just the barriers of my mind?
protecting long lost secrets of my sub-conscious

The pain warps me

I wander the maze of mental riddles
trying to piece together the puzzle of my past
only to find questions that answer questions

I am the puzzle-master

Pitch Black, when nothing is seen
Things appear clear as day
Your mind creating it's own reality

No computer needed

I fear the alter ego my mind has created
I am the silence that screams
the darkness that enlightens

I'm numb to it all

All at once my world is ripped from beneath my feet
I fall into the Abyss that nightmares do no justice
only to awake upon my floor

Covered in sweat and shivering
